Please note that I write using UK terminology on my blog.
Chain stitch (ch)
Yarn over the hook, pull through the stitch on the hook.
Slip stitch (ss)
Insert the hook into the stitch or the space indicated, yarn
over the hook, pull the yarn through both of the loops on the hook.
Picot
Chain 3 (usually) then slip stitch into the first chain at
the beginning of the chains made.
Double crochet (dc)
Insert the hook into the stitch or the space indicted, yarn
over the hook, pull up a loop (2 loops on the hook), yarn over the hook, pull
the yarn through the loops on the hook.
Half treble (htr)
Yarn over the hook, insert the hook into the stitch or the
space indicated, pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook), yarn over the hook, pull
the yarn through the loops on the hook.
Treble (tr)
Yarn over the hook, insert the hook into the stitch or the
space indicated, pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook), yarn over the hook, pull
the yarn through 2 loops on the hook, yarn over the hook, pull the yarn through
the last 2 loops on the hook.
Double Treble (dtr)
Yarn over the hook twice, insert the hook into the stitch or
the space indicated, pull up a loop (4 loops on the hook), yarn over the hook,
pull the yarn through 2 loops on the hook, yarn over the hook, pull the yarn
through 2 loops on the hook, yarn over the hook, pull the yarn through the last
2 loops on the hook.
Triple Treble (ttr)
Yarn over the hook three times, insert the hook into the
stitch or the space indicated, pull up a loop (4 loops on the hook), yarn over
the hook, pull the yarn through 2 loops on the hook, yarn over the hook, pull
the yarn through 2 loops on the hook, yarn over the hook, pull the yarn through
2 loops on the hook, yarn over the hook, pull the yarn through the last 2 loops
on the hook.
